Classic and timeless in style, this still life painting is great for bringing a touch of richness and intrigue to contemporary and traditional interiors alike. It's small in size yet brimming with detail, with pops of teal and red bringing life and character to the daily sight of sliced bread on the family table.

“It was Christmas time and this was the seven-grain bread from the table of my mother's house, something that reminds me of family and the tranquility of having bread on the table, of having food and of being safe. The images I paint aren't planned, they occur naturally in everyday life, and through them I reflect on and document life as it happens, as well as the meaning and power that something as obvious and as unassuming as bread can have."

Juan Camilo Barón
Juan uses his art to document everyday life. He sees this as a way of understanding his own reality, as well as culture and history. Here the banal and the obvious offer symbols and narratives that allow him to interpret life on a different plane. Recently, the meaning that we as individuals give to the world has become a key thread running through his paintings, along with spirituality and the act of looking with intention.
