Juana Gaviria’s work is inspired by Bauhaus ideals of functional and aesthetically pleasing art, all of which can be achieved through the clever use of form and colour. Her works are defined by a sense of movement and depth in which contrasting shapes and colours interact in striking geometric abstractions.
By actively exploring the relationship between shaped surfaces, embedded planes and their surrounding space, Juana creates a visual experience that’s both clever and surprising. Her art provides a playful and restful refuge from an ever-frantic contemporary world.
