Gonzalo Fuenmayor’s fantastic Carmen Tropical 3 is an intriguing and unique work of art for the home. Employing iconic imagery, such as the toucan, the flamingo, and the banana, Gonzalo draws inspiration from his own search for identity and belonging between Colombia and the US. Inviting us to reflect on cultural representation and the stories we weave around mundane, everyday objects, he exaggerates Latin American stereotypes with wit, intelligence and irony.
