And if I need to pause a drawing mid-process, place it to one side for a time, then no one can see it until it’s finished. It needs to be undisturbed, unspoilt by an outsider’s gaze, so I can return to that exact same focus and concentration when I begin to work on it again.”

Carolina Rodríguez Romero
Carolina Rodríguez Romero uses her art to pay homage to childhood, to its vibrancy and colour, and to its innocence, hope and insuppressible energy. In the Colombian artist's own words, "A child's essence is untouchable, it's alive, full of colour, and no one can alter that. Society might try to change this, to make us forget what it is to feel free, but it will never take away the child within us all, so full of life and colour."
