A closer look reveals female figures woven into a symmetrical layout inspired by pre-Columbian jewellery from South America. Priscilla González
Costa Rican artist Priscilla González is known for her intricate works on paper and her focus on femininity and intimacy. She references domestic objects such as doilies, as well as erotic photos of curvaceous women from the 1960s and 1970s. By combining the domestic and the erotic, Priscilla's art highlights the tension being a ‘respectable’ woman in public and the private desires that come to life behind closed doors, away from the judgemental gaze of society.
