Bar
Bar by Ane Gómez is a compelling modern art print and the first work from the expressive series Lo Que No Ves. Originally created using mixed media, namely acrylic and oil stick on canvas, Bar emerged from a place of experimentation and freedom. The piece embraces movement and corporeality, allowing gesture to lead the composition without restraint.
This work forms part of a broader series that explores the hidden, the buried and everything that escapes the naked eye. In Bar, color and gesture take on a central role, while the materiality of paint becomes a defining feature. Built through multiple layers of oil and acrylic, the surface develops density and depth, acting as a visual barrier that both conceals and reveals. These layered accumulations invite the viewer to imagine what lies beneath, suspended between the visible and the invisible. As a modern art print, Bar offers raw energy and thoughtful abstraction, making it a striking addition to contemporary interiors.
"These prints are part of the series Lo que no ves (What You Don't See). This series of works delves into the hidden, the buried: all that escapes the naked eye.
Each piece is constructed using multiple layers of oil and acrylic, generating dense surfaces that act as a visual barrier.
These material accumulations not only conceal what lies beneath but also invite the viewer to imagine what remains veiled, suspended between the visible and the invisible."

Ane Gómez
A graduate of Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, Ane Gómez uses painting to explore the hidden and the buried: everything that escapes the naked eye. Via expressive gestures and thick, palpable layers of paint she places texture and depth center stage in her work. She covers, hides, layers and builds to create paintings that seem to burst with semi-opaque secrets from under translucent veils of oil.
